'Masbate, Ticao, Burias, you are the dearest isles we know.. We're strong men and lovely women..' , and the song replays on my mind each and every time I think of our beloved Masbate.

Masbate Province is composed of three islands -- Masbate, Ticao, and Burias. And with that being said, it is surrounded by beautiful beach spots. 

More than that, the province of Masbate has a whole lot more to offer -- not just to the tourists but also to its own Masbatenos.

Burias Island is one of the three major islands of Masbate province in the Philippines. The other two major islands are Ticao Island and Masbate Island. The Island has two municipalities, Claveria and San Pascual. -Wikipedia

Burias is truly blessed with beautiful islands. And one of these is the Animasola Island Rock Formation.

Believe or not, sunset has a special meaning to each one of us. 

Though some of us never really thought of this deeply, but sunset may mean romance for some, happiness for a few, or sadness for many.

Sunset in any part of the world is indeed equipped with an overwhelming indescribable feeling. But as they say, sunsets are all just the same. 

BUT, sunset in a place you belong, partnered with people you really love, is so much different than any other sunset you will see.

Here are some of the beach sunset views captured by our fellow Masbatenos in different parts of Masbate. And for those outside the province, I hope this will make you want to go home and see these spectacular views with your love ones.

Indeed, there is no place like 'home'.

1. Batuan, Ticao, Masbate

Batuan is a fifth class municipality in Masbate which is located on the southern tip of Ticao Island. It is also the smallest municipality in Masbate in terms of land area and population.

Batuan might be the smallest, but this municipality is blessed with marine sanctuaries and lovely beach destinations you have yet to discover.

Healea Nature Park Lagoon in Monreal, Ticao is honestly my personal favorite among all the beaches I've visited in Masbate. The 'El Nido' feel of the crystal clear island is a must see for every one!

Even if there are baby sharks, you can still snorkel and kayak here.

Balangingi Island, a 4.9-hectare marine sanctuary is considered one of Masbate's virgin islands and is now eyed as an ecotourism zone. With just a 15 minute boat ride from Pio V. Corpuz, you will get to enjoy its crystal clear water, fine white sand, and peaceful, picturesque beauty that offers a breathtaking experience.

Masbate is an island province located in the Bicol Region and lies at the center of the Philippine archipelago.

It consists of three major islands:
- Masbate
- Ticao
- Burias

Masbate is bounded on the north by Burias and Ticao Pass, on the east by San Bernardino Strait, on the south by the Visayan Sea and on the west by the Sibuyan Sea.

The people of Masbate predominantly speak Bisakol and Masbateño or Minasbate, a dialect unique to the province. Some Visayan languages with a unique mixture of Tagalog and some shades of Hiligaynon are also spoken in the province. In Burias Island, the people speak Bicol similar to that of the people of Camarines Sur, due to the island’s proximity to Bicol mainland. The people generally speak fluent English and Filipino.
