I bet we all have those moments when you just want to walk out of your office and experience that one great adventure -- away from the hustle and bustle of the city, away from congested beach resorts with just peace and rest in mind.
.. with that, we believe you will find that one great escapade in one of Masbate Province's amazing beach destinations -- Balangingi Island, Pio V. Corpuz.
Balangingi Island, a 4.9-hectare marine sanctuary is considered one of Masbate's virgin islands and is now eyed as an ecotourism zone. With just a 15 minute boat ride from Pio V. Corpuz, you will get to enjoy its crystal clear water, fine white sand, and peaceful, picturesque beauty that offers a breathtaking experience.
Pio V. Corpuz is situated at the southeastern tip of Masbate Island. This place is originally called Limbuhan which is from the word Limbu which means whirlwind.

From Masbate City, ride a tricycle going to Brgy. Tugbo then alight at the Tricycle terminal in Circle E. From there, ride another tricycle going to Poblacion 2, Mobo. Just tell the Driver that you're going to Mount Mayong Payong, he already knows where to take you. Fare is about 8 to 10 Pesos per passenger, so that's 16 to 20 pesos in total.
When you arrive at the entrance to the Mountain (just adjacent to the highway, before the bridge) you can either Hike (40 minutes to an Hour) or ride a Habal Habal, a motorcycle ride (15 to 30 minutes). They Charge 50 pesos one way per ride and they can take up to 2 passengers maximum.
Presently, since they are not yet finished developing this tourist attraction, they don't charge yet for the amenities in the area except for the restroom.

From the Picnic site, you can hike again (20 to 30 minutes) or ride another habal habal (10-15 minutes) going to Brgy.

Anyway, this is just temporary since the LGU of Mobo has already started constructing better road so that this astonishing site will become more accessible.
